Faculty

The School of Sculpture would have eminent sculptors as faculty members. Some of them include Alexander Gorlizki from US, Balbir Bodh from Delhi, Ravindra Bharadwaj, an alumnus from Santiniketan, West Bengal and Nivedita Mishra from Delhi.

A panel comprising of scientists, filmmakers and litterateurs art historians, social anthropologists and other distinguised personalities drawn from important segments of the society will also nurture the students from time to time.

FACULTY

Prof. Adwaita Gadnayak, an internationally acclaimed artist and sculptor is the director of the school. Born at  Neulapoi, a small village in Dhenkanal district of Odisha, Prof. Gadanayak, was naturally drawn towards nature and its finer aspects.

After completing MFA in sculpture from the College of Art, New Delhi, in 1992., Prof. Gadanayak did another P.G. in Sculpture from the Slade School of Fine Arts, London, in 1995. He has won the National Award for Sculpture (National Lalit Kala Akademi, 1993, Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi Award in 1989 and Scottish International Sculpture Award in 1996).
Prof. Gadanayak has been a regular at various national and international exhibitions where his work have been highly appreciated. His most famous projects include meditation (15ft/12ft/6ft granite) at  Three Wheels London, My Temple at National Lalit Kala Akademi, Delhi, Five Elements at Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology, New  Delhi, Nature at Lampsdeen (Aberdeen) UK, Dandi March (21ft/11ft/10ft marble), a monumental sculpture of Gandhiji at Raj Ghat, New Delhi, and many others.

He has been an expert at FDR Tableaux Selection Committee, Ministry of Defense Government of India for the Republic Day Celebration, Delhi. He was also the member of the jury for National Scholarship, Ministry of  Culture, Government of India. He has also been a visiting lecturer in Bristol College of Arts, UK.

Prof. Satyendra Patnaik a Ph.D. in History from Visva-Bharati University. With 33 years of experience in research, teaching, journalism and academic administration Despite being the Rector of the University he prefers to be amongst the creative persons. His knowledge in Indian Art & Sculpture and his passion to be with students of sculpture made him to take up some classes in this school. A prolific writer and an avid researcher, Dr. Patnaik has authored five books and over 40 research articles published in national and international journals.

Prof. Nivediata Mishra

An internationally acclaimed artist and sculptor born at  Neulapai Mahimagadi, a small village in Dhenkanal district of Odisha, Prof. Mishra, was naturally drawn towards nature and its finer aspects.

After completing B.F.A in Sculpture at Delhi College of Art she moved on to become a Research Asst. in Sculpture, Slade School in Fine Arts, U.C.L, London (1993-1995).She has won awards like Odisha Lalit Kala Academy -1988, International Award Scottish International Sculpture Award-1996, etc.

Prof. Himanshu Khatua, renowned filmmaker is also the CEO of KIIT School of Film & Media Sciences and Fashion Technology.

Smruti Ranjan Nayak

Smruti Ranjan Nayak, an accomplished artist, is Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Painting. A specialist in Contemporary Art, he has more than 15 years of experience as an artist, academician and in brand building. He has organized and participated in several national level art exhibitions. His works have the distinction of featuring in leading national and international collections and have won appreciation from art critics and lovers. His areas of interest also include Brand Building, Graphic Designing, Packaging and Audio Visual Documentary.

Prof. Alexander Gorlizki

Alexander Gorlizki in an eminent sculptor, painter and photographer and an alumni of famous Slade School of Fine Art and has been a visiting lecturer in renowned art institutions like Wimbledon School of Art, London and University of West England (UWE) at Bristol. Many visiting lecturers and artists moderated the entire programme, while eminent artists.

Prof. Raphale Beil

Raphale Beil is an eminent sculptor and painter.

KIIT School of Sculpture is a new initiative of KIIT University. The School draws its inspiration from Orissan culture which has dissipated the message of social harmony and world peace since time immemorial through its rich and vibrant monuments.

KIIT School of Sculpture will strive to provide freedom for art creativity to students drawn from different parts of the world.
Under the leadership of Prof. Adwait Gadanayak, an internationally acclaimed Sculptor, as its Director, KIIT School of Sculpture will have curriculum and facilities comparable to the best sculpture school of the world.
